Day Training and Habilitation ReimbursementA Targeted ApproachUniversity of Kansas
Minnesota Department of Human Services State reimbursement system design for day services for persons with developmental disabilities has not kept pace with the dramatic changes taking place nationwide in program philosophy and content. This article examines the need for changes in the way day services are reimbursed and details the impetus, research, and recommendations for a new rate-setting system for day training and habilitation services developed in response to this changing program environment. Implications for other states facing similar challenges are also discussed.
